Darius Christian
Darius Christian is a Grammy‑winning vocalist, trombonist, producer, composer, and songwriter whose genre‑blending artistry spans indie rock, hip‑hop, R&B, soul, and jazz. Born and raised in Baltimore, he earned a bachelor’s in jazz/commercial performance from Towson University (class of 2011), where he was mentored creatively by faculty like Phillip Collister. He later secured a master’s degree in jazz studies from NYU, deepening his craft in both performance and songwriting.
After graduation, Darius jumped into NYC’s vibrant music scene—performing at iconic jazz venues like the Blue Note—and earned placements on national television, including Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and more . His versatility has led him onto stages and recordings with leading artists: Adele, Macklemore, Gwen Stefani, The Jonas Brothers, Thomas Rhett, Leslie Odom Jr., Solange, Trombone Shorty, Bastille, Ricky Martin, and even with Mumford & Sons.
As an independent producer and songwriter, Darius has landed sync deals for HBO, Showtime, Vice, and Cheerios, and won a Grammy in 2024. His solo releases—like the introspective single Good Kind of Lonely (Feb 2024) and Volcano (Jan 2025)—showcase his signature fusion of funk, soul, power‑pop, and R&B, all highlighted by his rich vocals and propulsive brass arrangements.
Balancing roles as an educator and coach (based in Los Angeles/Nashville), Darius leads masterclasses and private sessions teaching voice, production (Ableton/Logic), and performance. Always evolving, he is set to release a full album (spring 2025) and continues to tour, record, innovate—and yes, mix beats with brassy grooves.
