J "Gizmo" Hall
J Gizmo Hall is a professional pickleball player who strives to grow the sport by being an ambassador for the next generation of players. He is focused on teaching pickleball to at-risk youth, as well as providing motivational speaking. He travels to juvenile detention centers, schools, and similar facilities to tell his story, teach and play pickleball with the kids.
Gizmo is based in Virginia where he and his wife run Pickleball Farm, a 501 (c)(3) (a no-spray no-till farm.) The goal of the farm is to provide the youth and families of the community with the opportunity to learn where our food comes from, how to garden and of course play pickleball. All crops grown at Pickleball Farm are donated to the local food bank or another non-profit that donates fresh produce to families in need.
Gizmo used to travel the country playing in pickleball tournaments, teaching adults and kid clinics and speaking to youth. He is active on social media platforms – sharing an inside look at the pickleball world, updating on non-profit endeavors and spreading awareness of mental health issues. While he isn’t traveling as often as he used to, pickleball, teaching the disadvantaged and speaking on mental health is still one of his key passions.
