Mick Tingstrom
Mick Tingstrom is a Professional-level PPR Certified Pickleball Coach in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with a passion for pickleball and a love for the people who play it (especially Veterans and wheelchair athletes).
Mick supports a non-profit titled, Military Adaptive Court Sports (MACS), and with his dad, Ray, they’ve been introducing, teaching and facilitating weekly pickleball play for years to hundreds of Veterans - including Vets with disabilities such as significant mobility limitations, hearing impaired, PTSD, and other.
He promotes wheelchair pickleball nationwide and is credited with integrating wheelchair pickleball tournament play in Colorado.
Mick’s love for sport and Veterans started at an early age. The combination of having a dad who served in Vietnam and was a Special Forces green beret in the U.S. Army Reserves, and having three brothers to compete against from birth, resulted in him playing pretty much every sport and activity under the sun - including baseball, basketball, football, softball, soccer and swimming.
Mick served over 27 years in the United States Army, mostly as a military intelligence officer, and enjoyed living and working with amazing people all over the world - from the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) separating North and South Korea, to Bosnia-Herzegovina, to Heidelberg, Germany to Kabul, Afghanistan.
Mick holds coaching certifications in pickleball, swimming, and USTA QuickStart tennis and when he’s not on a pickleball court, you may find him training for U.S. Masters Swimming National Championships where he is a 6.0 in the water!
