Sandy Halkett
Sandy Halkett is the Founder and Head Coach of Adaptive Pickleball, dedicated to making sports accessible for all. An LPGA Class A Professional for over 30 years and certified Adaptive Golf Instructor, she specializes in working with individuals of all abilities. In 2020, she founded Adaptive Pickleball, a 501c3 nonprofit, to help people with diverse-abilities improve fitness, build friendships, and experience the joy of competition through the game of Pickleball. Sandy also founded Veterans Play Pickleball (VPP), offering Veterans and their families a place to play, compete, and heal. A lifelong athlete, she’scompeted in eight different sports and currently plays in pickleball tournaments while coaching others across the Upstate. Since 2000, she has started the Greenville Special Olympics Golf Team and in 2023 launched the Greenville Special Olympics Pickleball Team. Sandy is married to Scotty Halkett, a former professional soccer player, and they have three children. She enjoys time with family, fishing, and sports photography—and credits her passion for coaching to her late father, an Army Veteran and lifelong athlete.
