It’s a life changing sport to me. I’m always sharing, always teaching, and always playing with beginners.

Stephanie Lane

Stephanie Lane has been passionate about pickleball since 2011, when she picked up the paddle again after first discovering the sport in her college days at Lipscomb University in the late 1980s. Over the years, Stephanie has built an impressive competitive career, consistently winning tournaments across multiple age divisions.

Her accolades include gold medals at the 2012 USAPA Nationals (35+ women’s singles), 2015 USAPA Nationals (19+ mixed doubles with Kyle Yates), 2017 USAPA Nationals (35+ mixed doubles with Dave Weinbach), 2018 US Open (45+ mixed doubles with Dave Weinbach), and 2020 Texas Open senior pro mixed doubles (with Weinbach). She also won gold at the 2019 National Senior Games (50-54 women’s doubles) and earned numerous silver medals at top-tier events such as the USAPA Nationals and US Open. In 2021, she secured gold in 5.0, 50+ mixed doubles at the Pickleball Hall of Fame Championships.

Though caregiving responsibilities for her memory-challenged husband led her to step back from national tournaments in 2025, Stephanie remains active in the pickleball community. She teaches clinics as an IPTPA certified instructor, serves as a regional director, and co-chairs the Pickleball Hall of Fame Nominating Committee alongside Yvonne Hackenberg.

Stephanie’s pioneering spirit includes being the first-ever sponsored Paddletek player and earning induction into both her high school and college Athletic Halls of Fame. She was also named 2011 Teacher of the Year at Glengarry Elementary School. Married to Andy for 34 years, they share pride in their daughter LeEllen, a competitive 5.0-level pickleball player.
